The project, funded by the United Way of Greater Toronto’s Africa Resettlement Fund, allowed CBDOC and The Yolo Foundation to procure a variety of items crucial for surviving the harsh winter conditions. The teams handed out hygiene products, winter socks, and other essentials to refugee asylum seekers present at Dominion Church International.

As the winter season sets in, initiatives like the Winter Drive Giveaway become even more critical. The challenges faced by refugee asylum seekers are often exacerbated during colder months, making community support and collaborative efforts all the more essential.

CBDOC and The Yolo Foundation expressed their gratitude to the United Way of Greater Toronto’s Africa Resettlement Fund for making this project possible. The impact of such initiatives extends far beyond the immediate distribution of items, fostering a sense of belonging and reminding asylum seekers that they are not alone.

The Winter Drive Giveaway stands as a shining example of how collective efforts can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. As CBDOC and The Yolo Foundation continue their commitment to community development, this project serves as a beacon of hope, warmth, and compassion during the winter season.
